What is Concrete Floor Resurfacing?

Concrete floors are prone to different types of damage, from chips and cracks to potholes. When these are left unaddressed, your floor becomes a safety hazard. Our resurfacing service effectively solves any problem large or small, from cracks and chips to large commercial releveling projects and creating ramps and falls to drains. Rather than replacing the entire floor, our team focuses the repairs on the damaged areas to reduce disruption, downtime and labour.

How Does Concrete Floor Resurfacing Work?

Unlike traditional concrete repair services, this option uses the existing floor to carry out repairs. Rather than breaking up the old surface, Armourcrete have a large range of diamond grinding and resurfacing tools that can grind large areas quickly. Then, highly modified concrete toppings or bagged floor leveling compounds are poured into the area for resurfacing. Unlike most flooring companies Armourcrete have an arsenal of over a dozen large grinders.

Why Choose to Resurface Concrete Floors?

Although there are other options available for repairing concrete floors, more businesses are choosing to have their resurfaced. This option provides a faster and more affordable solution without a compromise in quality.

Concrete is typically laid down in slabs. Traditional repair options will require you to remove the entire slab, creating more costs for your business. Concrete resurfacing allows you to save money as it is focused on the damaged areas. Additionally, it costs less in terms of materials and labour.

It improves the floor’s resilience

The materials used in concrete resurfacing can be enhanced with different chemicals. Effectively reinforce your floors for better durability and resilience with this repair option. With the right application, your flooring systems will be protected for long-term use.

  • Incorporate slip-resistant aggregates to prevent safety hazards in the workplace.
  • Incorporate an antimicrobial solution to improve your facility’s cleanliness and hygiene.
  • Incorporate a moisture-resistant solution to protect the floor from water damage.

Easy to apply

This repair option uses the existing flooring system as a base. This significantly cuts down the process, creating minimal to no disruption to your operations. Make sure you and your employees are focused on your core business by letting us handle this project.

Highly versatile

Concrete surfacing provides you with a cost-effective option to improve your floor’s aesthetic appeal. Ask our concrete grinding contractors to incorporate your desired design into the resurfacing mixture before it is polished.

Prolongs the floor’s life

When concrete resurfacing is done correctly, it can prolong the surface’s lifespan. This repair option reinforces the floor, making it more durable and less susceptible to the factors that typically accelerate wear and tear.

How Do We Resurface Concrete?

Armourcrete has a comprehensive process in resurfacing concrete floors. It allows us to make sure we deliver the results you want. Our process includes an inspection to identify all the issues that may compromise the final product’s quality and performance.

Step 1: Prepare the surface for coating

Armourcrete starts the application process by diamond grinding the entire surface area. The team will clear it of dust, dirt, grime and other substances that can negatively impact the epoxy coating finish.

Step 2: Pour the epoxy mixture onto the surface

Once the entire floor has been cleaned and cleared of debris, the team will proceed to pour the epoxy coating mixture onto the surface.

Step 5: Let the coating cure before cleaning the floor

After pouring and smoothening out the last layer of epoxy coating, the team lets it cure. Once done, they will clean the entire surface to make it shine, so you get the full effect of the epoxy look.

Step 4: Allow the resurfacing solution to cure

Once the team finishes applying the resurfacing solution, the floor will be covered to protect it from the elements. When curing is finished, the team will clean the floor, and you can finally use it.

Why Hire a Professional?

Several DIY guides today teach people how to resurface their floors. Although helpful, these can cause more problems in the long run. Resurfacing concrete floors require expertise, especially when done in large-scale projects like factory and garage floors. Mistakes in the application process will lead to compromised floors that will cost more and take longer to repair. Armourcrete has a team of skilled contractors who can take on this project for you, letting you focus on your core business.
